Johnny K is a San Francisco-based artist and designer with a passion for all things natural, whimsical, colorful and exotic. A graduate of the San Francisco Art institute, and a professional artist for over 25 years, Johnny K has created an enormous body of work that has ranged broadly across a wide and diverse array of media. This work has ranged from public art such as tropical airport banners and monumental murals of twenty foot high sunflowers, to background scenes for animated features and television as well as collection of 'Found-Object 'Sculpture and Assemblage that has been exhibited in galleries and museums nationwide. Many of his designs are featured on licensed products such as ceramics, paper products, beach towels and bags, needlework, apparel and fabrics and fine art prints. He has created hand painted surface design for companies such as Marshall Field's, Nordstrom, Pottery Barn Kids, Tommy Hilfiger, Kimberly Clark, Baby Dior and many others. With a nod to the past and an embrace of the freshness of the spirit of today, Johnny K's art is sometimes thoughtful, sometimes whimsical, always bold and beautiful.
